Altman Solon Opens Office in Singapore as Firm Grows its APAC Presence
Global strategy consulting firm focused exclusively on Telecommunications, Media, & Technology builds team in Asia
Singapore – Altman Solon, the largest global strategy consulting firm focused on Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) today announced it has opened an office in Singapore. The new office will serve as the hub for Altman Solon’s Southeast Asian operations as the firm recruits more talent to serve its growing client base in the region.
“We already have extensive experience in the region, serving Asian clients from the U.S. and European offices,” said Altman Solon Managing Partner Patrick Bellenbaum. “Singapore is a regional hub for the financial community and the gateway to strategic clients in Southeast Asia. With the Singapore office, we establish a permanent footprint in APAC, bundle local and regional market expertise, and attract local talent to serve our clients in this part of the world more effectively.”
The new office was launched by Altman Solon Director Dr. Ben Happel, who has worked with the firm since 2003 and has a decade of consulting experience in Southeast Asia.
“We are very fortunate that Ben has been leading the launch of our Southeast Asian office,” said Bellenbaum. “His deep experience advising investors and corporations in the TMT space in APAC and globally makes him a great asset.”
“I am excited for this opportunity as the TMT industries in Southeast Asia are seeing unprecedented change,” said Happel. “The region boasts a thriving, innovative space of companies that are serving some of the largest and fastest growing consumer markets in the world. Key trends include: infrastructure carve-outs amid changing regulatory frameworks, hyperscalers / cloud companies looking for ‘edge’ solutions, and growing interest by TMT firms and investors. All of this makes APAC one of the most complex but also most exciting regions globally.”
Happel noted that the firm has plans to significantly grow the Singapore office team in the coming months, including through many local hires. Singapore is Altman Solon’s 10th global office, coming on the heels of the opening of the firm’s Mexico City office last fall. The firm has completed client engagements across 100 countries and six continents.
