Boston – Altman Solon, the largest global strategy consulting firm focused exclusively on the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) sectors, has tapped senior telecom executive and public safety network expert Robert Sloan as a Senior Advisor.
“Bob’s unique experience in developing and operating public safety wireless networks will help our global clients create networks to support first responders and improve public safety communications,” said Altman Solon Chief Financial Officer Steve Conway. “We are very pleased to welcome a leader with Bob’s expertise and background to advise our global telecommunications strategy team.”
Sloan comes to Altman Solon after 30 years at AT&T, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at AT&T FirstNet, for which he oversaw the development and execution of the United States Government’s public/private FirstNet partnership with AT&T. The FirstNet organization provides federal, state, county, and local first responders with a dedicated Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network for interoperable data and voice communications. At AT&T, Sloan also served in various operational, marketing, sales, and corporate development management roles, including creating the company’s electronic sales and customer care channels.
In his new role at Altman Solon, Sloan provides strategic and technical expertise on the design, development, and operations of First Responder Mission Critical Broadband Networks for the firm’s global clients. These networks are critical to ensuring that first responders can access secure, reliable broadband service and employ the latest technologies in support of public health and safety.
Sloan earned a BS in Government and Education from Curry College and an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.
